PIT - Security / Travel Tips : Dropping Off or Picking Up Passengers
Before you leave to pick-up someone from the airport, use the Flight Information / Arrivals Page. You can check to see if the flight is on time and which baggage carousel will be used. You may pick up passengers at the arrivals curb directly outside of baggage claim. Please note there is no stopping or waiting with your vehicle at the curbside. If you wish to wait for your party, park your car in short term parking (first hour, $1), and wait for your party inside of baggage claim.
New in 2012:
If you wish to wait for your party, the first hour of parking is free in the Extended Term Parking Lot at Pittsburgh International Airport. This is the equivalent to a cell phone lot for drivers waiting to pick up passengers at Pittsburgh international Airport. The first free hour is only in Extended Term Parking, not in short term or long term. The second hour, patrons will be charged $1. After two hours, the normal rate of $8 per day will go into effect.
Parking for the first hour in both the long term and short term lots will remain $1. After the first hour normal parking charges will be effective. Parking in the short term garage offers the extra convenience of being right across the street from the terminal where you can wait for your party inside of baggage claim.
