Launch of JetBlue Flight Service at Pittsburgh International Airport

Onorato and Airport Authority Officials Announce Launch of JetBlue Flight Service at Pittsburgh International Airport

PITTSBURGH - Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato and Allegheny County Airport Authority Board Chairman Glenn Mahone today announced that JetBlue Airways would launch flight service between Pittsburgh International Airport and New York JFK and Boston Logan airports beginning June 30, 2006. Flights can be booked beginning today, Friday, March 17, at www.jetblue.com.

``Working with the Allegheny County Airport Authority and the Regional Air Service Partnership, I have made ensuring the long-term success of Pittsburgh International Airport one of the top priorities of my administration. Over the past two years, we have announced new low cost carriers, new jobs and new business developments at the Airport,`` said Onorato. ``Today, I am thrilled to add to that list of successes by announcing the start of JetBlue flight service at Pittsburgh International Airport. This is another significant step forward for our Airport and our region.``

JetBlue`s arrival into the Pittsburgh market will provide tremendous opportunities for travelers from the region. The new flight service will open up competition for two of Pittsburgh`s most important business destinations, Boston and New York. JetBlue will help keep Pittsburgh International Airport competitive by providing travelers with better choices at better prices. Increasing access and competition to these two major business centers will also help stimulate additional economic growth for the region.

``We have been working closely with JetBlue to encourage this new service,`` said Mahone. ``We call on the region`s business and leisure travelers to take advantage of this lower cost fare structure and help the airline to grow its network from Pittsburgh.``

``It has been our goal to attract new carriers and see the existing carriers expand. This announcement today is the result of a great deal of hard work, careful planning, creative enterprise and an unwavering focus on this important vision,`` said Allegheny County Airport Authority Executive Director and CEO Kent G. George. ``The Airport Authority is elated that JetBlue Airways will be bringing its unique brand of air service to Pittsburgh International Airport.``

Jet Blue will offer two Pittsburgh flights a day to Boston Logan departing at 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and four New York flights per day departing at 6 a.m., 10:35 a.m., 3:40 p.m., and 7:20 p.m. JetBlue will operate the Embraer 190, a 100-seat regional jet, on both routes.
