PITTSBURGH, PA (July 18, 2014) –The Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for excellence in budget quality for the budget of the fiscal year beginning January 2014. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving government finance professionals from around the country.
In announcing the award, the Association presented the ACAA’s finance department with a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation. This is the second consecutive year that the ACAA won this award.
To receive the award, an entity must meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting, as well as satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines include gaining a proficient rating in several categories, such as the policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
“This is a significant accomplishment for the Authority, and we are pleased that the expertise and dedication of our finance department continues to be recognized on a national level,” said David Minnotte, ACAA Chairman.
The Airport Authority has also been honored by the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting three times for its 2010, 2011 and 2012 comprehensive annual financial report.
