- AAAE Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Basic and Intermediate Training, Monday – Friday, April 14 – 18, FAA ARFF Training Center, Pittsburgh International Airport.
- ACI-NA Marketing Communications Conference and Jumpstart, Sunday – Wednesday, June 22 – 25, Hilton Hotel Downtown.
- ACI-NA Annual Conference & Exhibition, September 26 – 29, 2010, David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
PITTSBURGH, PA (March 14, 2008) – The Allegheny County Airport Authority will be hosting a number of airport industry meetings attracting hundreds of airport professionals nationwide.
From April 14-18, The American Association of Airport Executives will present Basic and Intermediate Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Courses at Pittsburgh International Airport. These courses are taught by FAA-certified ARFF instructors who are firefighters employed by the Allegheny County Airport Authority.
Since 1999, Pittsburgh International Airport ARFF training facility has provided top-of-the-line Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training to firefighters from the United States and around the world. The PIT ARFF training facility provides comprehensive firefighter training and emergency services instruction and trains more than 1,000 emergency responders from many states and the island of Puerto Rico each year.
From June 22 – 25, the Allegheny County Airport Authority will host the Airport Council International – North America’s (ACI-NA) Marketing Communications JumpStart® Conference at the Downtown Hilton Hotel. The 2008 Conference theme in Pittsburgh is “Building Partnerships in Evolving Environments.” Keynote speakers include airline CEOs Robert Fornaro, AirTran Airways, and William Diffenderffer, Skybus Airlines, among others.
The last day features the JumpStart® Air Service Development program, where airport representatives meet one-on-one with airline route professionals in an exhibition-like setting. More than 400 people are expected to attend.
In September 2010, ACI-NA chose Pittsburgh to host its Annual Conference & Exhibition, which is the North American airport industry`s largest annual forum. More than 2,000 airport leaders, government representatives, industry service providers and partners are expected to gather at Pittsburgh’s David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The Allegheny County Airport Authority is the host organization.
