Allegheny County Airport Authority and SuperShuttle International, Inc. Officially Celebrate the Grand Opening Today With Ribbon Cutting at Pittsburgh International Airport

PITTSBURGH, PA (May 5, 2009) – The Allegheny County Airport Authority and SuperShuttle International, Inc. today officially launched shared-ride service operations to and from Pittsburgh International Airport. The new service expands ground transportation options for Allegheny County residents and visitors to the Pittsburgh area.
The official opening of SuperShuttle's full-service operation was marked with a ribbon cutting today and expected attendees include Allegheny County and airport officials including Airport Executive Director Brad Penrod and SuperShuttle's Pittsburgh Transportation president Jamie Campolongo.
“Improving airport transportation is an important goal for the community. Any effort we can make to get from point A to point B easier, quicker, and at a great price is something our visitors will value greatly. The Blue Van of SuperShuttle is a highly recognized brand that provides excellent service. It will be a welcomed sight to many visitors to the region,” explained Penrod of the Allegheny County Airport Authority which operates both Pittsburgh International Airport and Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin, PA.

SuperShuttle will begin service with 20 Blue Vans and expand the system as growth demands. SuperShuttle is the nation's largest shared-ride service which provides customers with a less expensive option than traditional forms of transportation to and from the airport by sharing a ride with other customers in close proximity.
