ALLEGHENY COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY NAMES JAMES R. GILL CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
PITTSBURGH, PA (October 26, 2007) – The Allegheny County Airport Authority has announced James R. Gill as Chief Financial Officer.
Gill returns to the Airport Authority from the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority where he has worked since January 2001. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Executive Director of Finance and Administration for the Allegheny County Department of Aviation/Airport Authority from 1997 to 2000. He began work at the airport in 1993.
“Jim brings to this post the essential experience in airport finance to effectively lead the Authority’s financial planning into the future. He is extremely qualified and his past experience here is an important asset for the job,” explained Bradley D. Penrod, Executive Director/CEO, Allegheny County Airport Authority.
Gill, a CPA, rejoins the Airport Authority after spending more than six years as the Deputy Airport Director and Chief Financial Officer for the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. While Gill was at Raleigh, the Airport Authority achieved the highest credit rating of any medium hub airport. Additionally, under his guidance the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority implemented its PFC program, which resulted in more than $19 million in revenue, and the Airport Authority’s first Enterprise Resource Planning System, which brought more than $3 million in savings.
Gill, a Pittsburgh native, holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Duquesne University. With 18 years of experience in finance, he is a member of the finance committees for professional airport associations including the Airport Council International-North America and the American Association of Airport Executives. He and his wife, Mary Beth, have five children.
