ALLEGHENY COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES NEW DEVELOPMENT AT CLINTON COMMERCE PARK
PITTSBURGH, PA – The Allegheny County Airport Authority board approved a lease agreement with Knepper Press on a 12 acre site at Clinton Commerce Park, a new area for business and warehouse development on airport property. The term of the lease is 29 years.
Knepper Press will build a 100,000 square foot building to house its printing plant. Knepper is currently located in Oakdale and was seeking a new larger facility to handle its additional equipment and staff. The company has 110 employees. Knepper’s president Ted Ford expects to begin construction next week and could add up to 50 more jobs at the new facility.
Development on Airport Property is an important goal of the Allegheny County Airport Authority. Clinton Commerce Park is a 240-acre site in Findlay Twp., at the intersection of Route 60 and Clinton Road just north of Pittsburgh International Airport. Site preparation – including infrastructure and utilities connections – were made possible, in part, by a $7.5 million Pennsylvania Community and Economic Development grant from Governor Edward G. Rendell. All five sites will allow for the development of 1.5 million square feet of buildings. When completed, it is estimated that 750 to 1,500 new jobs will be created.
